Maria Cimilluca has announced her plans to depart Georgia Tech to join Harvard University as senior director of Capital Planning and Project Services.

Jan. 24, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

It is with mixed emotions that I am sharing news of Maria Cimilluca’s departure from Georgia Tech to join Harvard University as senior director of Capital Planning and Project Services.

Maria joined Georgia Tech in November 2021, as the inaugural vice president for Infrastructure and Sustainability. She has been instrumental in developing several efforts tied to the Institute’s strategic plan including the Sustainability Next PlanComprehensive Campus Plan, as well as overseeing the development of the Climate Action Plan. Also, Maria has provided forward-thinking contributions to transformative capital projects including Tech Square Phase 3 and the conceptualization of Arts Square.

As Harvard’s senior director of Capital Planning and Project Services, Maria will report directly to the chief financial officer and vice president for Finance and serve as a member of the Financial Administration leadership team. In this role, she will liaise with the university’s schools and departments to provide subject matter expertise in developing high-quality strategic and financial analyses to advance and support the capital needs of the university.

I am grateful for Maria’s contributions to Georgia Tech’s instructional and research mission. She has established a solid foundation for how we will meet the needs of this growing campus well into the future. Please join me in wishing Maria the very best in her next chapter.

Maria’s last day in her role at Tech is March 1. Details about interim leadership and the search for a successor will be announced soon.
