As part of the Unified ERP implementation, and at the direction of the Office of Strategic Implementation within the University System of Georgia (USG), Georgia Tech and the USG are pausing new integrations and system changes involving Workday Finance, OneUSG Connect, and other systems that integrate with these platforms. 

This pause is necessary to allow the shared ERP solution to be designed, tested, implemented, and stabilized for the July 2028 Unified ERP go-live date. Similar restrictions are in place across all USG institutions and are effective immediately.   

What This Means 

Until the Unified ERP goes live in July 2028, Georgia Tech will significantly limit changes to the systems supporting finance and human resources processes. 

During this period: 

• New integrations and major system enhancements will generally not be approved. 

• System and process changes will be limited to:  

• Compliance or regulatory requirements. 

• Critical defect resolution. 

• Requests for new integrations or system adjustments must be reviewed and approved by Georgia Tech's business and technical leadership. Supporting documentation will be required in most cases to inform decisions. 

Additional Considerations 

Georgia Tech has committed significant functional and technical resources to the Unified ERP project. As a result, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) will have limited capacity to support other technology initiatives, including: 

• ServiceNow implementations. 

• Single Sign-On integrations. 

• Enterprise Data Warehouse requests. 

• Other projects requiring OIT technical resources or coordination. 

Units considering local solutions that interact with OIT-managed systems are strongly encouraged to engage OIT early in the planning process. Requests for OIT support may require leadership approval. 

How We Will Move Forward 

Georgia Tech’s Administration and Finance (A&F) teams remain committed to delivering service excellence. Given these system constraints, A&F will work with campus partners to identify alternative ways to achieve business objectives, including: 

• Focusing first on the desired business outcome rather than a specific system change, and then evaluating alternatives outside of Workday, including process and operational adjustments. 

• Leveraging AI and reporting solutions such as Microsoft tools and Tableau. 

• Pursuing system enhancements only when no other viable alternative exists and is limited to supporting compliance requirements.
